Energy Transition Handbook

Energy transition describes the global shift away from fossil fuels towards meeting global energy demand through a smart and efficient energy eco system producing sustainable greenhouse gas emissions

There are a number of prevailing and interlinking themes:

  • The electrification of "everything" from transport, heating, fuel production through to increasing universal access to power
  • The importance of energy efficiency in our energy and transport system, building and products: described as the cornerstone of any transition to a cleaner, more secure and more sustainable energy future
  • A shift to low carbon and renewable energy and fuels
  • Technology changing how we generate, store and consume energy, manage our networks and monetise the value of flexibility to the system
  • Political and corporate commitments and increasing public demand on limiting global warming, achieving "net zero" by 2050 and environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) and standards like the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Energy transition is multi-faceted, accelerating and affects everyone (not just those in the energy sector). To help you navigate the changing landscape and to demonstrate the breadth of our global energy transition capability, we are delighted to share with you our Energy Transition Handbook.

As a firm, we’re looking at energy transition through an industry sector specific lens and would be very happy to discuss what energy transition means for you, your business and your sector. Please do reach out to us if that would be of interest.
