Hogan Lovells 2024 Election Impact and Congressional Outlook Report
There has been significant progress in the Commonwealth and State Governments’ plans to develop a hydrogen industry in Australia since our original Australian Hydrogen Projects Paper that was published in 2020. Alongside and in collaboration with domestic and foreign developers, investors and energy buyers, the Commonwealth and State Governments have continued to support the development of existing and new hydrogen-focused research programs and project plans across Australia throughout 2021. We have summarised these developments and changes in this latest 2022 version of our Australian Hydrogen Projects Paper.
Hogan Lovells Australia Hydrogen Projects Paper 2022 sets out Australia's hydrogen pilot projects, refuelling projects and feasibility studies that are currently funded or shortlisted for development, as well as the current Australian funding initiatives that have assisted in progressing these projects. It can be read in conjunction with our Australian Hydrogen Update Paper, which provides an overview of Australia’s emerging hydrogen industry, the long-term investment logic for hydrogen development projects, the status of the legal framework required for this, and the current Government strategies promoting hydrogen development projects.
Hogans Lovells intends to stay at the forefront of the developing hydrogen industry, and has created a global initiative (which we call “H2L”) connecting our lawyers worldwide to promote collaboration and innovation in our work for clients in the hydrogen space. This will enable our clients to benefit from both our local knowledge as well as our growing experience in global hydrogen projects.
