Lukas advises clients in all fields of patent law, with a particular focus on Supplementary Protection Certificates (SPCs). Having a nuanced and strategic approach to patent cases, clients from a broad range of industries rely on his experience as a patent litigator.  

As an experienced IP practitioner, Lukas helps clients achieve their goals in all areas of patent litigation, including infringement and validity proceedings. He represents clients from various industries (in particular from the Life Sciences and Health Care sector as well as from the Technology and Telecommunications sector) before all German courts as well as the European Patent Office (EPO) and the Unified Patent Court (UPC). Demonstrating his international perspective, Lukas is regularly involved in cross-border patent disputes, coordinating teams from many different jurisdictions and acting as the client's primary point of contact. He has advised clients from all parts of the globe including the US, China, Japan and Europe. Lukas is well experienced with jurisdictional differences and well connected with colleagues around the world, especially within the European countries, which allows him to tailor his advice to the specific needs of the clients. Whether assisting patent proprietors in enforcing and protecting their intellectual property rights or acting for defendants, his style of handling cases is both highly analytical and business-conscious. 

His educational background with a special focus on IP law and graduating as top 5% of his class at Friedrich Schiller University Jena complements his professional endeavors.
