Ying Lou is an associate in our IP Group and focuses her practice on IT and commercial contracts, data protection, cloud computing, online brand protection (in particular the protection and recuperation of domain names), and internet regulation. She also has experience in telecoms regulation, media, cyber security and consumer protection issues.
Ying was admitted to the Paris Bar in 2015 and started her career at a leading international law firm specialized in intellectual property/technology law, where she was mainly dedicated to telecoms regulation and data protection.
Born and raised in China (PRC), Ying holds a LL.B from the University of Nanjing (PRC) and two Master’s degrees in Media & Telecommunications Law and Sports Law, respectively, from the University of Aix-Marseille III.
A native Chinese speaker, she is also fluent in French and English.
Representative experience
Advising an international bank group on the implementation of its data loss prevention tool in 22 jurisdictions.
Advising a renowned messaging app provider on its strategy of obtaining IPv4 and IPv6 resources.
Advising an internet giant on Internationalized Domain Name issues (e.g. the ICANN's policy on the commingling of different scripts in the same IDN).
