Dr. Hubertus Weber advises companies on compliance and investigations. His practice has a specific industry sector focus on the life sciences sector as well as the automotive and financial services industries.

Hubertus has extensive experience in defending companies against agency investigations (including dawn raids), conducting cross-border internal investigations and compliance audits as well as advising on anti-bribery, antitrust and competition law compliance. He also regularly advises on implementing and updating global compliance systems. In addition, he is experienced in conducting compliance trainings and post-investigation litigation.

In 2018/19, Hubertus worked in our London office. In 2023/24, he was seconded to the group compliance department of an MDAX 50 company where he was in charge of case management and internal investigations worldwide. Before joining Hogan Lovells in 2015, Hubertus was a scholarship holder at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition.

Advising a DAX 40 company in the life sciences sector on a cross-border internal investigation into bribery, corruption and cartel allegations.

Conducting cross-border antitrust compliance audits for a DAX 40 company in three corporate divisions.

Advising various life sciences companies on antitrust compliance.

Advising various life sciences companies on their dawn raid policies.

Advising a chemical company on an internal investigation and crisis management.

Advising a DAX 40 company on an EU cartel investigation (including dawn raid).

Advising a DAX 40 company on a German cartel investigation (including dawn raid).

Conducting internal investigations into tax fraud allegations (Cum/Ex topic) for various financial institutions.

Conducting special investigations into financial institutions for the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin).

Conducting internal investigations into fraud allegations and cartel allegations for various car manufacturers. 

Advising Air Canada on a cross-border cartel damage litigation (Air Cargo cartel).
