Andreas has extensive experience with technically complex and multi-jurisdictional patent litigation cases in various fields of technology, such as telecommunications (2G/3G/4G/5G), WiFi, electronics, semiconductor technology, photovoltaic systems, network security, and software.
A particular focus of Andreas' practice is on defending industry clients in litigation against non-practicing entities. Andreas has gained vast experience in the area of standard-essential patents (SEPs) where he has acted for major companies in litigation before the Unified Patent Court, German Civil Courts, the German Federal Patent Court and Federal Supreme Court, and the European Patent Office.
Andreas studied physics at the Technical University of Munich and worked at the Max-Planck-Institute for Plasma Physics, where he also obtained his Ph.D. in physics.
Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Andreas worked with major law firms in Munich and Dusseldorf.
