Representative experience

Advising China Baowu Steel Group on its investment in the Simandou mining and infrastructure (rail and port) project in the Republic of Guinea, reportedly the largest project of its kind in Africa at the time.

UK Infrastructure Bank (UKIB), the UK state-owned infrastructure development bank, on its £150m financing tranche into the €2.7bn Neuconnect Energy Interconnector Project between UK and Germany – a landmark deal in the Energy Transmission sector.

SVEVIND Energy GmbH on the realization of one of the five largest hydrogen projects in the world. The project will generate green hydrogen from renewable energies and contribute significantly to the decarbonization of the industry.

TC Energy on the consolidation and expansion of Natural Gas Transportation Agreement in conjunction with the Mexican Federal Electricity Commission, under which natural gas will be supplied to the southwest and central Mexico.

JX Nippon in the development and financing of the Petra Nova CO2 processing facility, CO2 pipeline, and gas fired peaker plant, and a related oil and gas EOR project. The work included the JBIC project financing, and mezzanine financing, and currently includes converting the project to permanent CO2 sequestration and a possible tax equity investment for the project.

Helion Energy in the first of its kind commercial fusion project to provide Microsoft with electricity from Helion’s first fusion power plant, with a target capacity of at least 50 MW, and with Constellation Energy serving as the power marketer.

The Shah Deniz Consortium (led by BP and SOCAR) on all aspects of the US$40bn Shah Deniz gas project in Azerbaijan and new 3,500km Southern Gas Corridor to Italy: “the world’s single largest, non-military infrastructure project.”

The consortium WTE and IFA on the successful bidding process, the construction, financing, operation, the investment agreement and financial close of the Umm Al-Hayman PPP project, one of the world’s largest wastewater projects. (Winner of the PFI Award 2020)

Assisting French unicorn Verkor for the pathfinder project financing of a €2bn, 16GW batteries gigafactory project in Dunkirk.

Rolls-Royce's Power Systems division on the conclusion of a long-term contract for the procurement of fuel cell modules from cell centric GmbH & Co. KG.

The Crown Estate on the award of landmark agreements for the development of six fixed offshore wind farm projects, with a total energy generating capacity of 7GW, as part of Leasing Round 4. The completion of these agreements marks the culmination of a £9bn tender process to deliver new offshore wind capacity to the market through a live competitive auction process.

The state-owned NEGU, the Ministry of Energy, and the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan on a ground-breaking power project involving the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of a 1,600 MW combined cycle gas turbine power plant in Syrdarya, Uzbekistan. We are assisting on all aspects of the project, with a total project value of US$1bn.

Mytilineos/METKA in relation to Covanta Energy, Biffa and Green Investment Group’s Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF)/EfW process plant in Ellesmere, Cheshire and a joint venture with Standardkessel Baumgarte GmbH. (IJ Global European EfW Project of the Year 2020)

U.S. and Canadian utility-scale energy storage project developer, esVolta, in the successful sale of its company to Generate Capital, including 500 MWh of contracted energy storage projects and a development pipeline of over 9 GWh of additional projects.

The construction joint venture part of the Red River Valley Alliance team bidding for the Fargo-Moorhead Flood Diversion Project, a 20,000 cubic feet per second, 36 mile-long, 1,500 foot-wide diversion channel.

Baltic Power Sp. z.o.o. on the development and project financing of a 1.2 GW offshore wind project, the first of its kind in Poland.

Asian Development Bank, GuarantCo, and Munich Re, on the US$160m satellite project financing of the Asia-Pacific Remote Broadband Internet Satellite Project (Kacific1). (IJGlobal Asia Pacific Telecoms of the Year).

IFC and the City of Belgrade in connection with a PPP project to transform the city’s existing waste management practices. (IFLR Project Finance deal of the Year and IJGlobal European Waste Deal of the Year).
