Helping to put nature into recovery

Colleagues across the UK selected The Wildlife Trusts as our dedicated UK strategic charity partner for three years running from the start of 2020 through to the end of 2022. The Wildlife Trusts is a grassroots movement of people who believe that we need nature and nature needs us. The Wildlife Trusts is working to put nature into recovery. They look after more than 2,300 nature reserves, covering 98,500 hectares and operate more than 100 visitor and education centers.

The shared value partnership sees the firm supporting The Wildlife Trusts through pro bono legal advice, fundraising and skilled volunteering, while The Wildlife Trusts is supporting our clients, colleagues and their families to connect with nature to support their wellbeing and learn about the key environmental topics, including the 30 by 30 campaign.

2020 highlights included:

  • Running 18 virtual events to fundraise over £62,000 for The Wildlife Trusts;
  • Colleagues spent nearly 1000 hours supporting The Wildlife Trusts, including 400+ dedicated pro bono hours;
  • The Wildlife Trusts running two wild wellbeing sessions for colleagues, four educational "Lunch & Learns," and a client webinar showcasing the 30 by 30 campaign.

Craig Bennett, CEO of The Wildlife Trusts commented: "As we emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic and start to rebuild the economy, there is a great opportunity to build back better. We will be advocating for a green recovery, holding decision-makers to account and robustly challenging decisions that we believe will accelerate the climate and ecological emergencies. The pro bono support of a team of experienced and highly skilled lawyers will be invaluable to us."
