Digital Infrastructure Deal of the Year – Data Centres – Europe: Maincubes – Project Matrix
We advised the international lending consortium on over €1bn financing of data centre platform, Maincubes. The new debt facility will further accelerate Maincubes’ sustainable growth strategy to become a leading European data centre operator. The Hogan Lovells team has advised the lending consortium comprehensively on all aspects of this transaction. The team worked on this complex transaction seamlessly together and coordinated the cross-border legal advice as well as the consortium of banks including various international lenders.

Renewable Energy Deal of the Year – Offshore Wind – Europe: Baltic Power Offshore Wind Farm
We advised ORLEN and Northland Power Ltd. on the €4.4bn financing and development of the Baltic Power offshore wind project in Poland. The Baltic Power project is located in the Baltic Sea approximately 22 kilometres off the Polish coast and will be the first offshore wind farm to be built in Poland. Once operational, which is estimated in the latter half of 2026, Baltic Power will be amongst the largest offshore wind projects globally. It is expected to provide clean energy to over 1.5 million Polish households and will play an important role in helping Poland achieve its target of up to 11 GW of offshore wind to be constructed by 2040.

Power Deal of the Year – Africa: Singrobo Hydropower Plant
We advised the sponsors with regards to the construction and the operation of a 44MW hydro power plant in Côte d'Ivoire, from the development to the financial closing, including the negotiation of the project document. The Singrobo-Ahouaty Hydropower Development Project addresses the Ivorian government’s concern to diversify the energy mix following an increase in thermal power generation in recent years. The Government of Côte d’Ivoire plans to invest heavily in the generation, transmission and distribution segments of the electric power sector and to implement an ambitious electrification programme.

Refinance Deal of the Year – Africa: SECAA – Dakar-Diamniadio Toll Road PPP
We advised the lenders, consisting of The Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund (EAIF, represented by its agent NinetyOne Pty Ltd), Banque Ouest Africaine de Développement (BOAD) and CBAO Groupe Attijariwafa Bank in connection with the refinancing of the existing debt of Société Eiffage de la Concession de l'Autoroute de l'Avenir (SECAA) and the financing of additional investments to be made on the Autoroute de l'Avenir Dakar-Diamniadio-AIBD (Aéroport International Blaise Diagne), which is currently in operation.
