Hogan Lovells 2024 Election Impact and Congressional Outlook Report
The Arkona offshore wind farm is located 35 kilometres north-east of the island of Rügen and is one of the largest wind farms in the Baltic Sea. With a capacity of 385 megawatts, generated by 60 six-megawatt Siemens turbines, the wind farm supplies up to 400,000 households with renewable energy, saving up to 1.2 million tonnes of CO2 each year.
EIP, a leading investor in the energy transition, invested in the joint project of RWE, Equinor and Energy Infrastructure Partners after its completion in 2019, contributing to Germany’s strategic initiative towards a low-carbon economy transition.
Hogan Lovells provided EIP with comprehensive advice in relation to the refinancing of the Arkona investment.
Carla Luh, head of the German finance practice, says:
“We are pleased to be able to support our long-standing client EIP in another landmark project and to contribute to the successful implementation of its strategic goals. This transaction once again highlights the importance of investments in renewable energies for the future of a low-carbon economy.”
