Hogan Lovells becomes first law firm to use InChorus platform to advance DEI efforts

Press releases | 26 June 2024

London, 26 June 2024 – Hogan Lovells has become the first law firm to partner with InChorus, utilising their innovative technology platform to enhance workplace inclusion. InChorus offers a secure, anonymous channel to log incidents such as microaggressions or interactional bias related to gender, race, sexual orientation, disability, and more.

"We are delighted to be at the forefront of using such a progressive tool," said Penny Angell, UK Managing Partner at Hogan Lovells. "We know that there can be a reluctance to call out seemingly "minor incidents", which may nonetheless contribute to someone feeling excluded or marginalised in the workplace. By embracing this technology, we can help ensure that every voice is heard, allowing us to review and act on trends over time and to foster an even more inclusive environment. "

InChorus complements the firm’s existing programmes focussed on cultivating an inclusive culture, which includes:

  1. Our award-winning partnership with FLAIR, whose technology helps organisations measure and build racially equitable cultures. It provides leaders with the tools and metrics to regularly track a number of key areas, including racist behaviours; levels of racial awareness and inclusion barriers
  2. Offering Upstander Leadership workshops, interactional bias and microaggressions training, anti-bullying and harassment training, and launching the Hemisphere brain training platform in the UK
  3. Achieving Mansfield Certification Plus in both the U.S. and UK for our DEI efforts
  4. Co-sponsoring The 1% Study with extense and launching their bespoke workshop series to invest in our lawyers from Black and ethnic minority backgrounds
  5. Supporting our people through the firm’s ‘Respect Advocates’, trained Mental Health First Aiders, mental health awareness training, and year-round counselling through the Employee Assistance Programme and Peppy app
  6. Rolling out Thrive, the firm’s award-winning mental wellbeing service
  7. Re-launching the ‘This is Me’ campaign across EMEA where our people have shared their own personal stories to promote understanding and support.
