Hogan Lovells advises Shaftesbury on its all-share £5bn merger with Capco

London, 16 June 2022 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells has advised FTSE 250 listed Shaftesbury PLC “Shaftesbury” in connection with its all-share recommended merger with FTSE 250 listed Capital & Counties Properties PLC “Capco”. The combined group (to be named Shaftesbury Capital PLC) will create a leading mixed-use central London REIT, with a combined portfolio of approximately £5bn.
The merger brings together two respected real estate companies, with a mixed-use portfolio located in a number of vibrant, high-profile and high-footfall destinations across London’s West End, including Covent Garden, Carnaby, Chinatown and Soho.
The Hogan Lovells team was led by London partner Nicola Evans, with support from London partner Anthony Doolittle.
Hogan Lovells has been a long term key advisor to Shaftesbury for over 3 decades with their real estate team, led by client relationship partner Gill McGreevy, advising on investment and asset management within their West End portfolio, as well as advising on debt and equity finance and corporate matters, including their
equity capital raising in 2020.
