Hogan Lovells advises Flipkart on adding Google as an investor in its latest funding round
Singapore, 13 June 2024 - Global law firm Hogan Lovells advised Flipkart Private Limited (Flipkart), one of India’s leading digital e-commerce companies, on adding Google as a minority investor in its latest funding round, subject to regulatory and other customary approvals.
Google’s proposed investment and Google's proposed cloud collaboration with Flipkart will help Flipkart expand its business and advance the modernization of its digital infrastructure to serve customers across India.
The Hogan Lovells team was led by Singapore-based partner and Head of Corporate & Finance Asia-Pacific, Stephanie Keen, with support from Sylvia M. Taslim (partner, Singapore) and Esther Wong (associate, Singapore).
Hogan Lovells continues to develop its strong relationship with Flipkart, having previously advised Flipkart on its fundraising rounds, including its 2021 US$3.6 billion funding.
Stephanie Keen, the lead partner, stated: “We are privileged to have advised on this significant transaction in India. We eagerly anticipate continuing to assist our clients in this rapidly expanding and innovative sector.”
