Mike Mason serves as head of Hogan Lovells' global Aerospace & Defense (A&D) Sector group, where he leads a multidisciplinary team focused on providing a full spectrum of legal services to clients in the A&D industry.
Mike is also a key participant in the firm's overall government contracts practice. Mike's practice encompasses core areas of government contracting law, including representing clients in bid protest litigation before the Government Accountability Office (GAO) and U.S. Court of Federal Claims, often involving contracts valued in hundreds of millions, or billions, of dollars. Mike assists clients where there are allegations of misconduct, including False Claims Act litigation, Procurement Integrity Act violations, suspension and debarment proceedings, cyber incidents, and mandatory disclosures.
Mike also guides clients through the complex and ever-changing environment of government regulatory requirements. Mike has years of experience assisting clients with all aspects of the Federal Supply Schedule program, especially including the "high risk" areas of pricing disclosure and monitoring requirements. Mike regularly helps clients with gap assessments and the construct of compliance programs. Mike's comprehensive knowledge benefits clients on all aspects of cybersecurity, including government safeguarding and reporting requirements.

Successfully represented a large aerospace contractor in one of largest bid protests ever filed at the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
Defended several Federal Supply Schedule contractors in False Claims Act litigation, resulting in favorable settlements.
Filed successful bid protest at the GAO, leading to corrective action and subsequent award of US$300m+ contract to our client.
