Dr. Karolin Hiller is part of our international Health Care and Life Sciences team in Berlin, Munich and Hamburg. Her practice focuses on medical, social security and pharmacy law as well as medical device and clinical trial law. A growing focus is on digital issues such as digital applications, telemedicine services and software, as well as issues related to e-prescriptions and other applications of telematics infrastructure. Dr. Karolin Hiller also advises on the processing of (health) data and health data protection issues. Her clients include companies from all areas of the healthcare sector, i.e. healthcare service providers (e.g. (online) pharmacies, hospitals and MVZ chains) as well as companies from the pharmaceutical, biotech and medical technology sectors.

Dr. Karolin Hiller advises clients on the set-up of corporate and business structures, the drafting of contracts, the necessary coordination with contractual partners, authorities and associations of service providers and, if necessary, represents them in court to enforce their rights. She supports healthcare companies in identifying compliance risks in cooperation with service providers and other third parties as well as in international transactions (mergers & acquisitions) and other complex contractual arrangements.

As part of her legal education, Dr. Karolin Hiller worked abroad (Italy) and subsequently worked as a lawyer in an international context, including a further stay abroad in Ireland. Prior to joining the firm, she worked for a major international law firm in Berlin and in the health law department of a US law firm. Karolin regularly writes articles on current topics in health law and gives lectures in English and Italian.

Regular advise of European mail order pharmacies on all correlated matters.

Assisting investor during the M&A process of company providing remote healthcare service from physicians to private companies and public entities. 

 

Counseling private companies investing in medical care centres, hospitals and care home facilities.

Legal advice of a leading German hospital group company on the general structure for providing private medical operation services in the inpatient sector.

Drafting of license agreements for the development and marketing of pharmaceutical products.

Supporting pharmaceutical companies with all kind of contract drafting required for clinical studies.

Counseling private companies investing in veterinarian clinics (transactional work) and/ or providing veterinarian services online.
