Karman is a competition lawyer with extensive experience gained both in private practice and at regulators. In private practice, she has worked in London and Brussels advising clients on a range of transactional, behavioural, contentious and non-contentious competition issues. In the regulatory sphere, she spent time in the legal and policy divisions at the Office of Fair Trading, and was seconded to the Competition Commission to assist with the setting up of the Competition and Markets Authority. Most recently, she was Head of Competition Enforcement and Strategy at the Financial Conduct Authority, leading a team responsible for the FCA’s enforcement of cases under the Competition Act 1998, and heavily involved in concurrency policy together with the CMA and other concurrent regulators.
