Eric has negotiated, drafted, and advised on architectural, construction, and consultancy agreements for more than $10 billion in new construction and renovations of NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, MLS, UEFA, and NCAA venues and ancillary developments, including more than 24 arenas, stadiums, and training centers. Eric also counsels sports and entertainment clients on issues relating to the procurement, design, development, and construction of venue projects as well as issues relating to real estate, financing, and use of facilities.
Eric also counsels sports and entertainment industry clients on a broad variety of matters, including venue development, sponsorship, naming rights, technology development, retail, food and beverage, project leases, franchise agreements, licenses, and event operations. In addition, Eric has advised on, negotiated, and drafted construction, design, engineering development, and other definitive agreements for energy, agricultural, semiconductor, transportation, education, and public assembly clients.
Eric previously served as counsel at an international law firm. Before then, he was Senior Vice President and General Counsel at CAA ICON, a division of CAA Sports, an industry-leading owner's representative, project management, and strategic management consulting firm for public/private sports, entertainment, and public assembly facility owners and operators, professional teams, and leagues. Eric served on the company’s Executive Committee, where he advised the company on material legal issues and helped develop business strategies. Eric also served as an executive sponsor of the company’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) committee, and regularly advised and helped establish and implement DEI initiatives.
Negotiated and drafted design and construction agreements relating to the US$1.9 billion development of new multi- purpose stadium for NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders.
Negotiated and drafted design and construction agreements relating to the US$900 million redevelopment of historic Seattle Center arena for a new NHL Seattle hockey team.
Negotiated and drafted design and construction agreements relating to the US$524 million development of new arena for NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks, incuding training center and entertainment district.
Represented NFL’s Washington Commanders in connection with to the development of a new stadium and ancillary development.
Counseled developer and negotiated and drafted design and construction agreements relating to the six-phased historic redevelopment and restoration of Wrigley Field, home of MLB’s Chicago Cubs.
Represented and advised Olympic sports program on the development of a new, state-of-the art Olympic sports facility that will serve as one of the venues for the LA 2028 Summer Olympic Games.
Negotiated and drafted design, construction, and development agreements relating to development of 52,500-seat soccer stadium for Serie A’s AS Roma Soccer Team.
Represented the Tampa Sports Authority in its efforts to develop a new ballpark for the MLB's Tampa Bay Rays.
Represented the State of Hawaii’s Aloha Stadium Authority in the development of a new Aloha Stadium ancillary development project.
Represented the NFL’s St. Louis Rams in a dispute with Convention and Visitor’s Center concerning whether current venue qualified as a “top-tier” NFL stadium.
Represented Syracuse University in negotiating and finalizing a new naming rights partner for its on-campus multipurpose arena.
