Having held previous senior roles at the Royal Court, General Authority for Awqaf (the government authority that regulates and oversees the public and private endowments sector), the Public Investment Fund (PIF), SABIC HQ in Saudi Arabia and SABIC IP in the United States, as well as several well-recognized local law firms, and international law firms inside and outside Saudi Arabia, he brings to the firm a wealth of knowledge and strategic oversight on governance and compliance matters, as well as strong relationships with key decisionmakers within the region.

Representative experience

As the Vice Governor of the Regulatory and Supervision Division, responsible for overseeing several main functions of the Authority (e.g. Legal Affairs, Litigation Affairs, Licensing, Governance...).*

Managing the Regulatory Affairs Department at the PIF and providing continuous support to other divisions within PIF in relation to new and existing investments and governance of such investments.*

Responsible for providing advice concerning any dispute related to the existing investments and any portfolio company of the PIF.*

Responsible for providing support in relation to corporate and corporate governance matters.*

Responsible for supporting public policy matters and communications with the Royal Court, Supreme Authority, Counsel of Ministers, CEDA, etc.*

Providing support in relation to investigations of noncompliance matters. This is in relation to financial crimes (e.g. Anti-Money Laundering).*

Responsible for providing legal support in relation to the financing of PIF or PIF s portfolio companies.*

Responsible for providing advice in relation to the governance of PIF as an entity and its position within the hierarchy of government entities.*

Advising SABIC s functions and business units on commercial matters relating to supply, purchase, and sales agreements inside and outside the Kingdom.*

Advising SABIC's functions and business units on corporate matters relating to formation of new affiliates, amendment of affiliate articles of association, and amendment of joint venture agreements.*

Advising SABIC s functions and business units on matters relating to litigation before the Board of Grievances, the General Court, and the Labor Court.*

Participated an investigation of one of the long-standing SABIC affiliates in relation to a claim of a financial crime claimed to be committed by board members and upper-management.*
