Alexander Premont regularly advises financial institutions, alternative credit providers, corporates and private equity sponsors on acquisition/leveraged financings (particularly in the hotel, transportation and insurance industries), asset and insurance financings.

Alexander has a breadth of leverage product knowledge (including European and U.S. Term Loan B (TLB), covenant-lite, PIK, unitranche, super senior structures and pari high-yield bond transactions).

Alexander is also regularly involved in a broad range of asset financings, representing banks, equity investors, lessors, and lessees. Asset sectors include real estate, aircraft, ships, rail, and other big ticket assets. He also regularly advises and assists its clients with their energy transition projects, particularly in the renewable energy sector and for large-scale projects.

Additionally, Alexander advises a number of banks and insurance market participants on finance facilities supporting their funds at Lloyd's and other insurance/reinsurance financings. Alexander has developed extensive experience in the regulated area of insurance company financings.

Representative experience

Advising NW Groupe's lenders in connection with a €430 million bank loan to build and operate new electricity storage systems in France and Finland.

Advising Verkor for the financing of its Innovation Centre for €100m and its Gigafactory for €1.5 billion as one of the largest project for the development of battery manufacturing in the world.

Advising Société Générale, Crédit Industriel et Commercial and KBC Bank NV on the financing of the project costs in relation to one new-build heavy lifting vessel "Green Jade" for the DEME Group. 

Advising CACIB and nine other lenders in relation to a USD 139,000,000 Balthazar-supported loan for the purchase of a new Airbus A350-1000 aircraft.

Advising CACIB, CIC and other financial institutions as arrangers and lenders on the financing by way of a Japanese operating lease with call option of 2 Airbus A350-900 aircraft to Air France.

Advising Swissport on its €325M TLB financing for the acquisition of Aerocare, the number one ground handling operator in Australia.

Advising Vacances Bleues Hôtels (a major player in the tourism industry) on the financing of its acquisition of the Humanis hotel portfolio.

Advising HNA on their €660m TLB facility, CHF150m RCF and Rule144A/Reg S offering of €400m SSNs and €290m SNs regarding the CHF2.7bn acquisition of Swissport Group.

Advising Ascot as part of the debt financing and funds at Lloyd's aspects of its $1.1 billion acquisition by CPPIB from AIG.

Advising ING Bank, Lloyds Bank, and National Australia Bank on using letter of credit facilities to satisfy underwriting obligations of large insurance and reinsurance groups.

Advising BNP Paribas on various debt financings for superyachts and corporate jets for a range of private clients.

 

Advising UBS on various debt and lease financings for corporate jets for a range of private clients.

Advising HNA on the financing of the acquisition of the Carlson Hotels group.

Advising the Carlyle Group in the financings of the senior facilities for the acquisitions of the B&B Group and the Sermeta Group.

Advising Marubeni Corporation and Innovation Network Corporation of Japan on financing the acquisition of Seajacks International.

Advising institutional investors in connection with private placement financings for SBM Offshore (Marine Money Offshore Deal of the Year 2013).

General advice to a health investment company in relation to the issue of additional obligations in order to acquire a Spanish care home.

Financing for the acquisition of one Airbus A320 for Air Calédonie International.

Representing the French Government and the Hauts de France Region on their emergency €120M funding to the Arc Group (a Group of companies headed by Arc Holdings SAS)

Advising Société Générale and Ingépar re French tax lease financing of two Boeing 787 in favour of Air Tahiti Nui

Financing of EGA Transhipment Systems.

Obtention of waiver of former loan contract and new credit line for Bompard.

Financing of one heavy lifting vessel for a Taiwanese SPV owned by CDWE.

Assisting Akiem in relation to the acquisition of Macquarie European Rail Limited and its portfolio of directly managed assets comprising approximately 150 locomotives in UK and Continental Europe.

Advising Colony Capital in connection with the refinancing of ColNozay SCI's €70 million indebtedness with respect to a 21-building company property known as City of Innovation/Nokia Bell Labs.

Advising TowerBrook Capital Partners on the financing aspects (€120m unitranche bonds issue and €20m revolving credit facility) of its acquisition of the rail unit of the Consolis group.
  

Advising TDF Infrastructures on its €300m capex term loan facility, in order to finance the capital expenditures plans and other potential M&A activity of the TDF group.

 Advising Vivalto Group on the financing aspects (€106m senior bonds program issue and €15m PIK bonds issue) of the capital restructuration of the group Vivalto (leading provider of retirement homes).
