Working in Brussels
If you are interested in becoming part of a truly global, collaborative team of legal thinkers, practitioners, and leaders, your journey begins at Hogan Lovells in Brussels. We understand that our people are the key to our success, which is why we seek to recruit and retain the most talented individuals. We offer lawyers and other professionals in Brussels exciting opportunities within a leading global law firm.
What we do
The European Union (EU) is the world’s largest single market. Brussels is an essential city for companies doing business in the EU because it hosts numerous EU institutions and is a focus for legislative initiatives, coordination among Member States, and enforcement of the rules and regulations.
Clients come to our Brussels team with their most challenging antitrust, international trade, life sciences, data privacy, and environmental challenges. Complementing our EU regulatory offering, we also have a full-service finance practice that advises clients on domestic and pan-European matters. Clients value our in-depth legal expertise, our understanding of EU institutions, and our unrivaled knowledge of their businesses and sectors.
Our Brussels practice areas include:
Antitrust, Competition, and Economic Regulation (ACER)
Our Brussels team excels in everything that is antitrust, including investigations, financial services regulation, foreign direct investment, merger control, cartels, abuse of dominance, intellectual property/competition, digital regulation, litigation, state aid, and procurement. Our ACER practice is truly global, with more than 100 lawyers in 10 countries.
International Trade and Investment
Our Brussels team advises on all EU and World Trade Organization issues, including trade controls, trade defense, financial services regulation, foreign direct investment, trade litigation, and trade policy.
Our international trade and investment team interacts daily with the firm’s fully integrated worldwide practice, which includes over 70 lawyers in Washington, London, Beijing, and Hong Kong.
Our Brussels team advises clients in a variety of life sciences areas, including medical devices, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, data protection, cosmetics, national law, and food and feed.
Our Brussels team offers a complete financial services legal offering. We advise and assist on banking and finance transactions and provide sophisticated financial regulatory advice. As Belgian lawyers, the team advises more broadly on Belgian corporate, finance, and commercial law topics.
With teams located in all the major global financial centers, the Hogan Lovells finance practice advises clients across the globe and has strong client relationships with active clients both on the issuer’s side and the lender’s side.
