Thomas Rouhette named to IADC board of directors

CHICAGO - At its Annual Meeting in July, held at the EPIC SANA Lisboa in Lisbon, Portugal, the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) elected new members to its Board of Directors. The IADC is the preeminent invitation-only global legal organization for attorneys who represent corporate and insurance interests. Founded in 1920, the IADC’s members hail from six continents, 51 countries and territories, and all 50 U.S. states. The core purposes of the IADC are to enhance the development of skills, promote professionalism and diversity, and facilitate camaraderie among its members, their clients, as well as the broader civil justice community. The IADC is committed to respecting the rule of law and improving civil justice.

Thomas Rouhette is a new Director and will serve a three-year term on the Board. Ranked as one of the 10 Best Product Liability specialists in the world (outside the US)" (Who's Who Legal, 2015), the "excellent practitioner" (Who's Who Legal, France, 2017) Mr. Rouhette, a partner at Hogan Lovells, is regarded by peers as "an established leader in Europe" (Who's Who Legal France, 2017). Also described as a "tough but excellent" litigator (The International Who's Who of Product Liability Defense Lawyers, 2012), "a good strategist and the best trial lawyer [the client has] seen in the French court system" (Chambers Europe, 2013), the "insightful" Mr. Rouhette (Who's Who Legal 2015, Commercial Litigation) focuses on commercial and product liability litigation.

He frequently appears before the French Commercial and Civil Courts on behalf of international clients, in particular in multijurisdictional disputes, in matters concerning notably the consumer goods industries. He provides assistance in all disputes relating to product liability, commercial contracts, unfair competition, insurance/reinsurance, market deregulation, transportation law, and industrial risks litigation.

Mr. Rouhette is also specialized in product safety matters and provides advice on the effect of regulations, assists with product recalls and responds to the requests of regulatory authorities. He has also an extensive practice of emergency proceedings relating to business litigation (ex parte applications and summary proceedings), enforcement measures, and settlement negotiations.

The International Association of Defense Counsel has served a distinguished membership of corporate and insurance defense attorneys since 1920.
