Jochen Seitz and Peter Maier join Capital Markets practice in Frankfurt

Dr. Jochen Seitz (46) and Peter Maier (41) have joined Hogan Lovells in Frankfurt as partners in the Capital Markets practice.

Dr. Jochen Seitz had previously worked at Mayer Brown, where he led the European capital markets practice and was a member of the firm's international partnership board. He studied law in Würzburg and Munich and completed his doctoral studies in 1999.

Peter Maier was a partner at Mayer Brown for six years and has worked with Dr. Jochen Seitz since the beginning of his career. He studied law in Freiburg.

Seitz and Maier contribute to the expansion of Hogan Lovells' client portfolio due to their excellent contacts to strategic clients within the finance sector. They advise syndicate banks and issuers on capital markets and derivatives transactions, issuance programs for bonds and structured securities, on securitized derivatives and OTC derivatives as well as on promissory notes transactions. They also have particular expertise in the field of product-related securities and bank regulatory law.

Dr. Burkhart Goebel, European Head of Hogan Lovells, says:

"We have grown in the past two years against the general market trend and want to expand our position as a fully integrated US-Europe law firm. I am therefore delighted that Jochen Seitz and Peter Maier have decided to join us as we continue on our growth trajectory."

Dr. Sven Brandt, Head of Debt Capital Markets Germany, says:

"Our strategic goal with the arrival of Jochen and Peter is to expand the German Capital Markets Practice and especially the European practice for structured products."

"We are delighted to be part of the Hogan Lovells team", adds Dr. Jochen Seitz. "Jointly we will be able to significantly increase the range of advice which we can provide to our clients and are very well prepared in light of the upcoming regulatory challenges for financial institutions, especially in connection with Brexit."
