Hogan Lovells Louisville selects Boys & Girls Haven as 2017 Touch charity partner

03 February 2017

LOUISVILLE, 3 February 2017 -- Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce that our Louisville Global Business Services Center (GBSC) has selected Boys & Girls Haven as our local Touch charity partner.

Touch is the charitable giving element of our Citizenship program. The firm matches funds raised by our people and promotes employee engagement through Touch. All Hogan Lovells employees are asked to commit at least 25 hours annually to Citizenship activities across five different strands: Pro Bono, Community Investment, Diversity, Sustainability, and Matched Giving.

Each of our offices supports a local nonprofit of its choice, and we collectively support one nonprofit on a global level. The Louisville GBSC, which was officially opened by the firm’s CEO Steve Immelt and Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer in November 2016, invited four local charities out of 23 initially nominated to present to our people before an office-wide vote. We chose Boys & Girls Haven as our inaugural local Touch charity.

Boys & Girls Haven provides care for teenagers that have been abandoned, abused, or neglected, helping them transition to foster care or independent living. Since its foundation in 1948 the organization has transformed the lives of thousands of teenagers.

Commenting on the partnership, Bill Ball, Managing Director of Hogan Lovells’ Louisville GBSC, said: “We voted for a very worthy cause. At-risk teenagers are often overlooked, and the chance of an education and stability in their journey to adulthood can have a lifelong impact. We are excited to select Boys & Girls Haven as our Touch charity partner and look forward to helping it fulfill its mission.”

Steve Luckett, Chief Development Officer at Boys & Girls Haven, added: “All of the organizations that made it to the final vote do incredible work, so we were honored to be chosen. The support of Hogan Lovells’ staff will go a long way toward helping us reach our 2017 goals and, more importantly, toward improving the lives of the teenagers we care for.”
