Hogan Lovells advises Daimler on a mobility joint venture with BMW

Led by Partners Nikolas Zirngibl and Jens Uhlendorf Hogan Lovells has advised Daimler AG on a joint venture with BMW combining their global mobility services.

Subject to approval by the relevant competition authorities, Daimler and BMW will unify their services regarding car sharing, ride-hailing, parking, charging and multimodality. Both companies will each hold 50 percent of the shares in the joint venture, which will solely comprise both groups' mobility services.

Daimler will contribute to the joint venture with its ride-hailing services mytaxi, Chauffeur Privé, Clevertaxi and Taxibeat, also with its car sharing service car2go and its multi modal platform moovel. BMW will join with its car sharing service DriveNow, its multi modal service ReachNow and its mobility services for charging and parking.

Hogan Lovells has previously advised Daimler on the acquisition of a minority stake for Europcar on car2go.
