Mock Interview Event for Diverse Law Students

Diversity

Americas

In conjunction with the Critical Race Studies department at UCLA School of Law, our Los Angeles office hosted the second annual mock interview workshop for diverse law students on 3 February 2014, at the UCLA Faculty Center. This event provided students with the opportunity to practice their interview techniques in an informal and comfortable setting, allowing them to strengthen their job-seeking skills while learning how to address diversity issues that may arise in the hiring process.

Our Los Angeles administrative partner began the workshop with a presentation on general interviewing techniques and diversity-related topics. Students then took turns sitting for one-on-one mock interviews with lawyers to receive instant feedback and interview tips, and engaging in question and answer sessions with our lawyers during a cocktail reception.

Fourteen lawyers from the Los Angeles office participated in the workshop. An associate in our Los Angeles office worked closely with the Critical Race Department to organize the workshop and ensure that it was a success.
